Hello,

I was going to set up a few new people on messenger live but when I went to
create new passport live id's for them, it only wanted hotmail accounts.
There was no way in the page it brought me to to create accounts using their
existing e-mail accounts in non-hotmail domains.

I have one for myself I was able to do because I was using the beta version
but I can't figure out how to do it for new users using the released version
of live messenger.

Thanks?

Greetings,

You can register a Windows Live ID (aka Passport) using any e-mail address from here:
https://accountservices.passport.net/reg.srf
(Choose Yes)

would I be able to copy my contacts from the hotmail domain to the new domain?

Hi,

Yep. Just use the Contacts menu, Save Instant Messaging Contacts feature (and the Import
option when you get into the new account).

You cannot however, automatically change your hotmail address to another domain and your
contacts will need to readd you.

If it doesn't already exist, it would be great if you could flag contacts in
outlook to be IM contacts for Live Messenger.
