signing off when I type and responder types!

I need help with windows live messenger?
I have windows xp home sp3 and I use yahoo messenger 8.1.0.425 and windows
live messenger version 2008, in both of these messengers, when I am IM'ing
someone, when sending messages back and forth, the messenger signs off, I can
only get replys via offline messages,
when I try to reply back to someone, AS SOON AS I type the first letter of
my message, it signs me off,
AS SOON AS they begin to type a response to me, it signs off, and I see
their reply when I sign back on via offline messages. this happens repeatedly
Please help! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Does this issue still exist after upgrading to the latest version of WL
Messenger Beta?
