I just downloaded the new 8.0 live messenger and now I can't see the number
of mail I have in my hotmail inbox! When I click on the envelope (email
inbox) button, it takes me to a verizon sign in page. I don't even have a
verizon account - how do I change this so that it takes me directly to
hotmail? I'd appreciate your help!

Hi Beeniepcola,

Can you please send the URL of the Virizon sign-in page that is launched?
Is you internet service provided by Verizon?

Thanks,
AA - MSFT

I'm having the same problem too. It's doing it on my desktop at home and my
laptop. Instead of taking me to my hotmail account when I click on 'Open
your email inbox' it's taking me to a verizon page..

No, I don't have any account with Verizon whatsoever. I had to uninstall my
msn messenger because I got so annoyed. But if you check the reply by
"Moises", he included the link to the Verizon webpage that comes up. I'm
'glad' to see I'm not the only one having this problem - thought I wasn't
doing something right! Hope you can help!

I am having the same problem and am ready to uninstall msn, since it isn't
working anyway. If anyone has a solution, it would be much appreciated. I
am glad to know that it is not just me - I have tried to find a setting and
haven't found anything, so I was starting to think that I was crazy.

Hi,
Please can you verify the following:
1. Open the registry editor by clicking START and RUN and type in REGEDIT
and hit Enter.
2. Drill down to this path and tell me if you have a registry setting called
Brand ID under this key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSNMessenger
3. If you do , please let me know what the value under Brand ID is.
4. Do you see Verizon advertisements at the bottom of the Messenger window
and changes in any other settings besides email?
5. Who is your ISP?

Thx
Deepa

I do not find a Brand ID in that folder. My ISP is Verizon DSL, but I do not
have a Verizon email address, only an MSN address. Yes - there are Verizon
advertisements that show up under the Buddy window.

Thanks for any help that you can offer.
