Then goto the Alerts and Sounds category
Uncheck "Display alerts when contacts come online"

This is a setting that you can enable/disable.

To do so, you can go to.

Menu: Tools -> Options

Dialog Box: Options

Select "Alerts and Sounds"

Now, you can enable/disable the "Display alerts when contacts come
online"

Hi .

Is there an option to perform a "silent login" in MSN Live messenger ? ie.
when one of my friends signs in , I'll *not* be notified for that , only
notified when he/she writes a message for me .

By that , I mean that the sign-in pop-up window (at the lower-right corner
of the screen) won't pop up when one signs in .
