Silverlight update KB957938 failure

I have tried 4 times to install this update amd have failed 4 times. Is there
a way to remove the update since I can not uninstall Silverlight?

I have the same problem. When I try to uninstall/repair Microsoft
Silverlight through 'add/remove programs' in the control panel, I get an
error message stating the installation source is not available.

I am having the same problem....has anyone figured out how to install or

You probably have the Beta version of Silverlight installed. Remove the Beta and install the version1 of Silverlight and then use the update to updated

Have tried KB957938 update five times. After the first failed twice, did a
reboot and immediately retried. Failed again. Tried the procedure suggested
by Pomeroy. Failed again. Did a registry search for "silverlight" and found
one key containing three values. After exporting the key just in case,
deleted it, rebooted and tried again. Failed. I'm out of ideas and I've
tried everything you folks have suggested. I don't really need Silverlight,
but I don't like failing technical challenges. Any more suggestions?

Only other idea I had was doing a system restore to an earlier date, then try
the windows updates again. But I couldn't find a restore point that would
work, after trying a number of them going back a few weeks. I'm giving up.
I'll do without, or maybe some future update will fix things. Just bugs me
knowing it didn't work.
