The Sims 2 Deluxe compatible with Vista

Just purchased a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista. Loaded The Sims 2 Delux
game on it and it locks up every time we go to save a created family. W
have run the program in Compatibility mode as well as the Administrator
Also have Uninstalled and Re-installed the game. Any other suggestions

Update all your video/audio drivers, run dxwebsetup.exe (get it from
http://www.microsoft.com/directx) to update your DirectX files, and grab
the latest Sims 2 patch (http://thesims2.ea.com/update/index.php)
