||| Microsoft is working on a fix for this. If your computer is windows XP
||| or
||| windows 2000 the workaround (which totally solved the problem for me is:
||| 1. start Internet exployer 6.
||| 2. on the TOOLS menu, click INTERNET OPTIONS, and then click the ADVANCED
||| tab.
||| 3. In the SETTINGS box, click to clear the USE HTTP 1.1 SETTINGS and then
||| click OK and apply
||| reboot.
||| It should now work fine.
||| the symptom this worksaroud is: IE unexpectedly exits when you view a Web
||| site that uses the HTTP 1.1 protocol and compression. This occurs on
||| many
||| computers after the recein 918899 update being installed.
||| hope this helps!

|||| Yes I have ben having the same problem on all computers going online.
|||| Does
|||| anyone know of a fix?
I have Sp2 and all patches up to August when a new hard drive and fresh install. I'm
having the problem on some websites. IE just dramatically shuts down on any link with
the Toronto star newspaper thestar.com. Other sites do not. I thought it was
something wrong with the site.
