Since I installed Visual Studio, I'm getting 8007273d Updater erro

I can't get the Updater service to start any more - every time I attempt to
start it, I get

"Could not start the Automatic Updates service on Local computer

Error 0x8007273d - the attempted operation is not supported for the type of
object referenced"

The catalyst for this seemed to be trying to run update after installing
IIS, as part of the prerequisites for Visual Studio 2003. At that point, it
said I needed to download the ActiveX (again) because it wasn't registered.
I got an error from the web page, and since then I can't update anything

A google search for the hex code found the solution - installing Steganos
Internet Anonym 6 can break BITS. I uninstalled SIA6, rebooted and voila!
"You have updates waiting".

Well done to whoever originally posted that, wherever it was - I can
confidently say I would *never* have found that
