I haven't had a windows/vista update since installing SP1 a couple weeks ago.
Do they wait for an accumulation before sending out?

SP1 is in BETA and you expect your copy of Vista to work properly? LOL!

Vista SP1 is pre-release software and updates for it would be distributed
according to the testing schedule.

In my experience SP1 works fine.
Unfortunately it does nothing to fix the worst thing about Vista: it reads
and writes to the hard drive slower than a dyslexic first grader.

That Is Because This Is Still A Beta Version Of Windows Vista Service Pack
One, Just FYI.

P.S. Microsoft Does Not Provide Updates For Beta Software Very Often, Unless
It Is Some Kind Of Emergency Virus Or Hacker Vulnerability Outbreak, Just
FYI.

Windows Updates, unless it is something urgent, come out on the 2nd Tuesday
of every month.
I don't know the arrangements for SP1.

So while my Vista Home Premium is languishing under the SP1 umbrella, updates
for it are suspended until the have an update to SP1? What about optional
updates, drivers, Office, Media Player, etc.?

Remember, SP1 is beta, updates for it are determined by the beta program,
its not commercially released. Its not equivalent to the RTM release of
Windows Vista which is commercially released software. SP1 = BETA.

There have been very few updates of any kind since the barge of update that
came out around the same time as Vista SP1 RC.

You can go here and check to see if there are any update you may want or
need (you can search by product and sort by date released..if the "would you
like to try the beta of download center" pops-up click No!).

So far I haven't seen any and the only updates I get are for Windows
Defender definitions.
