Slow Access to Certain Start Menu Items

There's a couple of folders in my start menu that take more than 30 seconds
to
expand. One folder takes over a minute to expand. Of course I don't wait
that long.
When the 'magnifying glass' appears if I right click the folder and select
Expand it
will expand. If I don't do this it takes forever.
Any way to speed this up?

Thanks,
James

Assuming these are just the regular shortcuts in the All Programs Menu,
delete them and recreate them. If these "couple of folders" are something
else, then please be more descriptive so you can get focused help. Saying
exactly where these folders are located on the Start Menu and what is
inside them would be a good start.

I deleted the folder and subfolder and simply added the
executable.
I forgat how difficult it is to navigate and modify the Star Menu.
