Slow after installing update

I've installed the most recent security update for XP and
have found that my machine has slowed down considerably.
Has anyone else noticed this and if so what can be doen
to fix this so called fix provided by microsoft.

I had the same prob...I did a System Restore (that failed acouple times)
Once it Restored sucsesfully I was back up to speed and tried the update
again.
