Hello, im running Vista Basic.

When i push the start button on n it comes to the first screen where
you can choose
to boot from HD or CD bla bla bla.

It takes a very while to get off that screen and load.
This started happening about a week ago where i updated my ram.
Now it takes about 30 seconds or more to get off that screen, where
before i
updated my ram it only took about 10 seconds or so.

Please help.

Thanks.

It seems that your system is running memory test.
On some BIOS's there is option to run quick POST (Power On Self Test) with
less detailed RAM test.
There is also option (on some BIOS's), when you hit tab key during the boot,
you may see POST progress. This may help you in diagnosing your system's
behavior.

In addition to setting the bios for a quick memory test - make sure there is
no disk in the CD/DVD burner. You system "may" be having trouble analyzing
whether it wants to boot from the disk.

I have seen computers go into a totally non bootable state because of a
forgotten disk.
