Slow Folder Resolution when not Connected to Domain

Hi All,

I can't seem to figure this one out - doing some searching I've found some
answers for XP but nothing for Vista. This problem never seemed to happen
on my last Vista box but now that I'm running our corporate Vista image
(business) I have the following issue:

Whenever I am not connected to a network the VERY first time I open windows
explorer I have to wait quite a while for it to resolve something or other.
This will happen for each new application that runs explorer and only the
first time per session - for example the file open dialog in word or simply
the Documents folder for my user profile.

The only thing I could find was to turn off network discovery... I did this
and it didn't help at all

Any clues?
