Slow HTTP download in Vista SP1/Switching back to XP-I hope not

Hi guys

I've been roaming the internet these few last days, and came to the
conclusion that I have to switch back to XP.
This issue has been posted many times all over the net, so I am not the only
one facing this.

I am running Vista Ultimate SP1.

Every HTTP download is so slow. I mean, there's a big difference from 1
Mbyte to 30 Kbytes in download speed.
I tried every solution I could find. Changing autotuning feature, "disabled"
and "highly restrictive", uninstalling "Remote differential compression" in
"Windows Features", I even tried using a patched tcpip.sys driver. Nothing.
Download is 30 kbytes up to 50 the most.

Every file over 1 gig is corrupt at the end(hours).
If someone from microsoft could enlighten me, what to do next to solve this
I'd be very grateful. I am computer proficient, so no worries there.

Greetings

Hi, Atolica.

What kind of firewall, antivirus, antimalware, etc., are you running?

Hi

Eset NOD32.
Built-in Vista Firewall and Windows Defender.

It's killing me. I am downloading with 20 k/s instead of 800.

I modified the autotuning option several times. disabled, normal. I am
testing this as we're speaking. It's like having a limitation. I also
patched the tcpip.sys but still the same. I modified Firefox's http
simultaneous connections, as FF has it's own config page. Nothing.
Back to XP.

hi atolica
i am running nearly identical software to you but without your
problems(at this time!) take a look at the IMON part of NOD32 there
maybe something that you can alter that will help resolve your problem.
i wish i had more suggestions, hope you sort it out, good luck.
