slow internet surfing

I just bought a gateway with window vista premium has an intel e 4400 with
2048 memory, the problem that it has is when I surf the internet pages loadup
slowly, what can I do to speedup the internet? My ISP is cable.

Uninstall everything that has to do with McAfee.

Oh, you say you have Symantec/Norton crap on your computer, and not McAfee.
Just as bad. Uninstall that.

There are plenty of freeware apps that will give you the same protection
without bringing your computer to it's knees.

to get a handle of you unwanted adware/spyware. Not listed as 100%
compatible, but it does work fine. It just changes your computer to reduced
color mode while running. When you close the program, everything returns to
normal.

More nonsense! Even though i wont be renewing the McAfee software now
that the free trial has expired, i've had no slowdowns on 2 vista
laptops using it. Neither machine has been brought to "it's knees".
They both run smoothly and swiftly. Grow up, Richard and stop whining
incessantly about how bad Norton and McAfee are. They arent perfect,
but they are no where near as universally bad and the cause of every
computer ailment that posters here inquire about. You only manage to
come off as a whacko with your comments. If that is your intent on
posting to this forum, then let me tell u right now, u have succeeded
admirably. You've been admonished numerous times by others ,but i
thought i'd put my two cents in as well. Chill out!

Sorry. I now admonish you. There are general software classes ( ant malware
suites) that are KNOWN to bring computers to their knees. So sorry to burst
your bubble.

And please, go back to an earlier post and quote the text where someone has
admonished me for stating this. Gee, maybe you will find one person who had
just renewed his subscription and didn't want to be informed he had made a
wrong choice.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough--I didnt say admonishment occurred in this
thread. Remember the saying, never say never or always? The two
leading virus checkers aren't as bad as u portray them. My bubble is
fully intact, btw. Just keeping it real.

Ad-Aware is not windows vista compatible, you may want to try 'Spy
Sweeper' (http://www.windvis.com/spy-sweeper-review).

And yes I agree, that Norton slows down you computer (I also use Avast
free edition).
