Hi, Ladybug.

We can't see your keyboard and you've told us SO LITTLE about it that we
can't give competent advice. :>(

All we can do is make a few guesses - also known as a stab in the (VERY)
dark.

My current keyboard is a Microsoft Wireless Laser 6000 v.2.0. It
communicates with the computer via a 2.4 GHz transceiver plugged into a USB
port. When I plug the USB transceiver into the motherboard port on the back
of the computer case, the keyboard often freezes up for a minute or two at a
time, usually right in the middle of typing a word - like I'm doing now. I
can fix that easily enough by moving the USB transceiver to my 4-port USB
hub on the end of a cable, which lets the transceiver sit about 2 feet
closer to the keyboard. (But when I need to dual-boot from Win7 into Vista,
I have to move the transceiver back to the mobo port because the USB hub
doesn't work until Windows loads its drivers.)

If we knew as much about your keyboard and its problem as I've told you
about mine, we probably could help you.

I appreciate your stab in the dark

It's a standard issue Dell keyboard that came with my CPU (a Del
Inspiron 545), wired to a USB on the back of the computer case. I'
actually typing this outside of this forum and cutting/pasting it bac
in. When I type normally, about half the letters I type show up o
screen. Another datapoint, I don't have the problem when I use Firefox
only IE8

Hi, Ladybug.

Thanks for the additional details.

Since I've never had a Dell, I'll let someone else handle it from here.
Good luck.

Ladybug

My Dell Studio 1555 (vista x64) has the same issue - brand ne
computer. I have had it since June and it has not worked YET! Th
keyboard buffer seems to be slow and half the time I hit a key, i
doesn't display the key (makes for hell with passwords). Do you hav
problems with cut and paste, as well? I noticed that I cannot cut an
paste - buffer problems - it doesn't copy to the buffer, or it hangs o
the paste (force reboot - even task manager won't kill it)

Dell is now (changed their story) telling me that I have malware (
catch-all,I think). I'm running yet another AV scan with yet anothe
product (#3) and haven't found anything yet - and don't think I will -
manage a cyber forensics team for a living (not computer repair), so no
likely (though I'm running my toolkit against it - nothing yet)

Now, my computer started blue-screening - when I touch it (move it - i
is a laptop!). And, it blue screens every time I use it.

I'm trying to figure out if this is hardware or software. I'm guessin
(only guessing) that it might have something to do wit
memory/motherboard (since Dell has replaced my keyboard and hard drive)

Thoughts?

Just to make sure I understand.
Is it correct that the new computer you bought 2 months ago has NEVER worked
correctly for even one day since the day you bought it and that that when
you contact Dell they do not provide any support nor do the offer to
replace it?
