Outlook or Outlook Express? The latter won't run on Vista.
Outlook is doable but not free.
You could try a different email program such as Thunderbird,
or wait for Windows Live Mail to be released later this month.

I have same program except everything I do is very slow. I have spent hours
on the phone with Microsoft Support and they are clueless with respect to
email. You mentioned Windows Live this month coming out. Is this an update
or a new program. Also, any suggestions on settings or anything I can check
is appreciated.

When you say "same program" are you referring to Outlook 2003?
If so, fixes for the recent slowness problem have been posted in the
Outlook newsgroups. One quick fix is to uninstall the security update
that was done around May 8th, KB931768.

Windows Live Mail will be a new program.

In that case, I don't understand why you hijacked a thread about
Outlook 2003. It is always best to start your own.

Anyway, some people have reported improvement by opening
Windows Calendar from within Windows Mail, then closing
Windows Calendar again.
Also, if you have many Contacts, sometimes it helps to turn off
auto-complete: Tools > Options > Send, uncheck "Automatically
complete..."

Other than that, you may have to wait for Windows Mail's replacement
to be released later this month.

The vast majority of the threads in this group concern Windows Mail.

Just type in Windows Mail into the search box
along with a keyword or two relating to your problem..
