Slow Shutdown after KB913580 is applied

It takes a very long time for Window XP to shutdown and I've never
experienced this before. The only thing i've recently installed is the
security updates KB913580 which might be the cause of it. Anyone having this
type of issue should immediatly post here.

I noticed that too. Plus Flash update won't take either. Hmmmmm.

Yes, I have this problem too and one of my colleagues. I thought it
might be norton internet security as have had a few problems with it
blocking things and hanging.

It turned out to be Norton antivirus scanning the a: on shutdown - no
a: being installed, it was hanging!
