Hi,
Your speed of connection is dependent on the slowest piece of the pipeline.
It has nothing to do with your processor or amount of installed memory, they
are only used to render the image once received. An 11Mbps connection should
be quick, much faster than a dialup, but public unsecured networks are often
notoriously slow. Just because your machine is capable of receiving at that
speed does not mean the network will feed it that fast.
Look at it this way: If you have a 1/2" pipe bring water to your home, it's
not going to matter if the sink faucet opening is 3" wide as water will only
flow as fast as the 1/2" pipe will allow.
