Small Business Server 2003 hangs after backup

Any suggestions why my SBS 2003 Std SP1 hangs after backup?

Details:
Dual 80 GB SATA disks in Raid 1 configuration backing up to a 160 GB IDE
disk in the server. Backup disk has 50% free space with 2 backup files
configured. Backup file indicates complete, but SBS 2003 stops responding
frequently after SBS 2003 scheduled backup.

Single 3.0 GHz P4 cpu with 1GB RAM
