Bit of advise needed on moving a Windows Small Business Server 2008 to a new location.
We are moving our SBS 2008 Server to a new Office and it will be a on a new ISP connection which is in situe and running. We use MS Exchange 2007 for emails.
As far as i'm aware we have a static Ip adderess at our current location but we dont have one where we are going. For starters is that essential as we are not using the Server to host any internet services that people from outside the network will be connecting too. I've been told as we using SMTP for our e-mail and we need a static IP address and then we need to make a change on our Web Server. Is that correct and how would I go about changing the Web Server?
Other than the above I assume I can just move the Server to the new location connect it up, and away we go on the connection that is already running there. I know will need to change the Router so that it is sending out IP addresses that are in the range of the address the Router already has.
However is there anything else I need to be aware of or any issue anyone thinks might happen?
Many thank.
