Small Busness Server 2008 w/o Exchange 2007

If I don't want to install Exchange 2007 in my SBS2008, can I install it on
x86 hardware? i understand the Exchange 2007 is really the x64 requirement.

No, SBS08 (OS) is x64 only.

Yes, I also believe that Exchange support is the only reason SBS moved to
x64, maybe the increased memory too but that probably could have been worked
around. However, the result is that the OS is x64 only, no choice.
