I have a vendor that setup a printer and scanner. We are suppose to be able
to scan to a folder on the network and then it is delivered to the desktop.
However, they can not get it to scan. Their version is that SMB is not
setup. I checked and I had SMB set on both the server and the client. I
changed this to only be using the server side by setting only Microsoft
network Server: Digitally sign communications (if client agrees). All other
signing and or encryption has been set to disable.
There test is, using a workstation on the network and using My Network
Places, to go to the domain. When tried you get the network icon with the
Domain Name, but double click and you receive the following message:
"Domain Name" is not accessable. You might not have permission t use this
network resource. Contact your administrator of this server to find out if
you have aceesss permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not
currently available.
How can I test SMB configuration? What is causing the above error?
Thanks in advance.
