I downloaded Windows 7 RC1, installed in on a Pentium 4 with 1GB of RAM.
The machine is 6 years old and so far, it seems pretty solid. A bit slow,
but that is expected on such an old machine.
It looks like Microsoft has done a better job with Windows 7 so far. I have
already installed SQL Server 2008 and it runs OK. I am in the process of
installing Visual Studio 2008. I am confident that it will run well also.
Copying works well. I copied a few large files( > 2GB ) and the system had
no trouble copying.
Way to go Microsoft. Looks like Windows 7 is a winner and Ubuntu is still a
piece of crap.
