so now I have the update not installed problem

I have been reading about others who can't install windows updates but I
didn't have a problem until today. The update that is supposed to fix the
update install problem would not install. After running the update I
received this message, The following updates were not installed: Update for
Windows XP (KB922582) So is there a fix for this?

Sarah,

There weren't any issues doing updates, this update was offered, and it
fails to install. Was this update offered via Automatic Updates, from
the Windows/Microsoft Update site, or did you choose it from the Windows
Catalog ?

Frankly, if there were no issues doing updates previously, then I would
recommend forgetting this one.

If you still "can't live without it", download it from here :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Save it to disk, do NOT run it from it's location.
Close IE and then install it.
