After installing the SP2 I am constanly getting "Socket
Notification Sink" error when I try to shut down the
system. The error message pops-up saying that Socket
Notification Sink can't be closed and prompts to press
Close Now button. Please help.

I've been getting this error too. Not to mention, Internet Explorer
constantly crashes whenever I close it using the close box (It says
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem). Clearly something is not
being cleaned up properly. But this only started within the past week.
And I haven't installed any new applications. I have the latest
Windows 98 SE service pack and Internet Explorer 6.0 SP 1. Accessing
sites on the Web also goes slow all of a sudden. I've done a
Ctrl-Alt-Del and nothing odd is running at all.

Your system is infested with spy|ad|malware, otherwise known as
crudware. Go here to scan it :

Patch Management Software-Spyware Test
http://www.auditmypc.com/patch-manag...-software-.asp

or here :

PestScan – free online spyware scanner from PestPatrol
http://www.pestscan.com/

When you find out that crudware is the issue, go here for some
preliminary help :
