Software Distribution Service 2.0 & CD-ROM Drives

Hi. Windows automatically updated to "Software Distribution Service
2.0" and now my CD-ROM drives are not functional. Neither drive will
appear in Windows (Device Manager and My Computer). The top drive will
open when I push the button, but the bottom (CD-RW) drive will not.
The bottom drive's light blinks continuously. When I system restore
back to before the point when it was installed, both drives work. What
can I do to fix this problem?
