Software Distribution Service 3.0 evil

Ok why did microsoft do this and how to fix please? 1st it is killing my
computers internet and made windows Live one care stop working. aka my virus
protection. Im running microsoft xp home. im going to go and restore my
computer and turn updates off for about a year untill they get it right.

I have had the same problem If these downloads can be done automaticly why
cannot they be corrected or deleted in the same way?
