Software Installation Failure

HELP! I'm using XP Pro, SP1. I cannot update Windows at all. It downloads
all the update programs, but cannot install any of them. I can't even
upgrade to SP2. All it says after trying is that "The following updates were
not installed." What is wrong and is there any way to fix it? Here is a
"failure" list of my last attempt that failed:

Try this Rick, it works for me when I have problems with MS Update

Oldad,

I tried your suggestion but it didn't work. BITS was already running. Any
other ideas? One note, I ran PC Tools free Registry fis and I was able to
update the Security patches. But when I try to install SP@, it comes back
with "Access Denied." Any ideas on that one?

Not reallly Rick but ypu can go to Microsoft Support (from the Windows
Update site and they will work with you (E-mail),until the problem is solved
or you give up.
I have done that several times and always got excellent service from their
Techs who are courteous and patient.
