I am in the process of buying a new laptop and was wondering what of my old
software will work with Vista. Is there a website that may list programs
that are known to be ok?

This may help but it will be unlikely to cover everything:

Applications that have earned the "Certified for Windows Vista" logo or the
"Works with Windows Vista" logo

I haven't found anything yet that won't run under Vista. Even old games like
Zeus which I think was written for Windows 98 run fine. You may have to
change some file properties before you install or run as administrator, but
they have all worked perfectly for me from Quickbooks 2005 to Zeus, Pharoah,
Anarchy Online, and more.

Before you install, google "installing (program) in Vista" and you will
probably find instructions for it. That's what I did with Quickbooks 2005
and it runs flawlessly.
