The problem I have is that while automatic updates download and apply just
fine manual updates are failing just about all the time now on three of the
four machines I use regularly.
In a lot of cases (not all, sadly) the solution for me is to create a new
account and use that account to get the manual updates.
In searching MS Update help I've not come across this solution so I thought
I'd post it here for people to add to their list of workarounds and perhaps
even push it to the MS knowledgebase if it genuinely isn't already in there.
I'd also like to know if there's anyway I can find out what it is about my
normal accounts that is annoying MS update - does anyone have any idea?
