Ooooookaaaayyyyy, so everybody has a problem where the updates and/or the
programs won't download or install. I have been a computer tech for a long
time and I am going to give you the solution to these problems.
First of all, what you need to do is, down in the task bar near the clock
are all of your icons. These of course are running in the background. What
you need to do is right click on every one of them until the menus pops up,
then click on "Close" or "Exit". Make sure that all of these icons except the
speaker icon is closed out. Then log in to the Microsoft Windows Updates and
try again. This time they should download and install normally like they
should be. This type of problem occurs mostly in Windows 2000 Professional
with the Service Pack 4 installed. If you are experiencing the same or
simliar problems with other Windows versions, read the instructions above.
Good luck and I hope that it works for you.
There is one thing I like to ask Microsoft. Okay, where's the new patch to
fix this kind of problems that we are all going through so that we don't have
to bang our heads against the wall trying to figure it out, huh, Microsoft
genius???

Sue the bastards.......they deserve it. It's our time and our lives they are
wasting with their slipshod "updates." This past year has been the worst
yet!
