Solution to Timeout error 80072EFD, after "new way to download"

The solution which worked for me was the following as stated in another thread.
(Note: this happened after windows said it has a better way to download
using v5, you are asked to install this new version.)

1. From services (Start-Run then type services.msc) stop the service
"Automatic Updates"
2. Delete, or rename the directory "c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution"
3. From services start the service "Automatic Updates"

Problem appears to be fixed.
