Solution to Update Problems Windows Vista

Hi Everybody,

I also had a problem with the following updates that would not install:

KB905866
KB941229
KB941600
KB941649

I got an error code: 800700B7 with the message that some updates could not
be installed.

I contacted Microsoft South Africa and a very helpfull guy sorted the
problem out for me after we tried several options. The one that worked in the
end was to reinsert the original installation CD and choose update option.
Then reactivate windows and run "slui3" command in the command prompt box
after it reports that your copy of windows in not a valid one.

I did not lose any data or settings during this process, but needed to
reinstall a lot of updates that were previously downloaded.
