How to solve error 0x80070057 for Windows 98

I have windows 98 on my computer, and when I try to download critical
updates I get error 0x80070057. I've seen a help page on how to fix this
problem with XP and 2000, but nothing for 98. Can anyone help me or direct
me in the right directions? Thanks,
