I solved the problem on Windows 2000 Proffesional after 3 days and 4 clear
instalations :-):
After clear instalation I installed IE6 SP1. Then it put me to the
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com page (you must choose it), where I
downloaded and installed all updates except SP4. Then I installed in
following order:
1) SP4
2) 891861 (
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891861/) Update Rollup 1 for
Windows 2000 SP4
3)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922582
Then I leave the Automatic updates with the BITS service on, which installed
Windows Installer 3.1 and updated BITS 2.0.
After restart of PC I only leave Automatic updates and BITS ON, and AU
became downloading other updates (44x critical). After installing this
updates I for the first time tried Windows Update V6 web page and it was
fully funtional.
I don't want to try this orders again, because I'm lucky, that I solved this
problem after 3 days of my hard work. Maybe someone will try it and maybe it
can help.
