i found the solution to my ie8 issue....on the microsoft corporation web
site.
seems there is an issue with the amount of connections ie8 allows and there
is a fix, which i have downloaded, saved and applied and lo and behold i have
opened 8 separate web pages and they all respond as fast as i would expect.
now i shall share this fix from microsoft with my other computers and my
friends.
i went to support for ie8.
found a known issue about the amount of connections for downloading.
found MicrosoftFixIT50098.msi.
increases the amount of ie8 connections from 6 to 10.
all better now, thank you.
and i had apologized to the OP for posting my problem in his thread.
so i guess you really dont want me to answer the last post you made so i
wont bore you any longer.

Hi je,

You don't realize it but you have more problems than you think.

http://www.google.com/search?q=max connections IE8

So what is using all those connections?

Try the fiddlertool from http://www.fiddlertool.com (You'll learn a lot with
this tool).

this is what i found from the google link.....but its not google...its from
tech recipes.com
By default Internet Explorer 8 limits the number of files that can be
downloaded at one time to six. While this is higher than previous versions of
IE, you can still get it to do better.
and instructions to follow after that...
and another interesting page followed from your google link:
http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-v...limit/...about
the default for ie8 is 6 connections and that it can be increased to 16...and
just what is using those connections you asked me about.
so rob...i told you what i had done....it has cured my problem as it was the
ONLY thing wrong....go ahead and continue to blame my computers or my setups
or me and the way i surf the net...go ahead...one day you will read a release
from microsoft about this and believe me the problem was with ie8 and the
number of simultaneous connections it had to a server to download each
individual "object/picture/animation" as needed to display a page
and thank you for the links...
and right now i have 5 ie8 pages running and they all are working flawlessly
fast, no complaints on ie8 now.
thank you for your time and thought cuz i will now have LOTS of things to
check into.
take care

time?

Which may just be delaying the problem symptom,
e.g. if it is caused by AVG's LinkScan "feechur".

Let alone AVG Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, and Security toolbar.

PS: Just learned that AVG 9 disables Defender, too.

thank you, pa bear.
the link in your post has the fix i applied (MicrosoftFixIt50098.msi) but i
found it by looking at the ie8 support page for known issues and my problem
has disappeared. now ie8 works as i expected it to work.
and rob posted for me a link to google that took me to a differnet web page
with numerous links to instructions to change a setting in the registry and
several explanations that had happened to be exactly my issue.
i chose to do the microsoft fix instead of creating a .reg file to change my
registry.
my problem is fixed and i wont continue to annoy all of you by refusing to
see its an avg or add-on problem. if ie8 crashed i would agree with you all,
but its never crashed, the problem was the number of connections and all of
your not believing me made me search microsoft for an answer and i found it
and i thank you all for forcing me to find my own solution.
and to robert aldwinckle....one of the computers had no av at all, so it
would not be possible for the avg linkscanner to have been the problem there.
so thank you all for reading my posts even tho you found me annoying and or
irritating.

Hi Je,

Great to hear you found a fix. We just want to know 'why'?

From your posts I had the impression that you had participated in the Win7
Beta testing program and also had an interest in asking the 'why' question
to diagnose and solve your own IE8 issues and to contribute to the
community. It is one thing to find a fix or a cure that works, but without
knowing the underlying cause, the efficacy of the fix will remain uncertain.

Regards.

i did participate in the beta testing program and this was an issue for me
since then. i had tried to solve it myself, but after almost a year asking
"why" and having tried all of your suggestions on my own with no success i
decided it was time to ask for help. that is why i did not want to take those
steps yet again, which i had stated 2 or 3 times that i had taken all those
steps several times over and i got grief for saying it was ie8 not my av or
add-ons, setup yadda yadda yadda...
the "why" turns out to be a known ie8 issue which everyone here seems to not
want to know about but microsoft already knew about it and has a kb article
on the matter.
when i said i suspect it is the "amount of connections" neither you nor pa
bear nor anyone else directed me to the kb article pa bear referenced in his
last post and thank you pa bear for that link to the kb article
nor did you send me that link to google you searched for me and thank you
very much, by the way.
how can anyone expect me to contribute when all you mvps kept looking for
fault where it didnt exist to begin with but was a known issue that you all
denied existed
until pa bears last posting...thank you pa bear, you wont see me here
anymore now.
i did mention this issue to ms in the surveys they sent me during the beta
testing and i mentioned it again when i got the emails asking my opinion of
the rc and mentioned it again when asked what i felt needed to still be
worked on for the final release.
if mentioning that kb article was done the first time i said "amount of
connections" this posting of mine would have ended days ago and all of you
would not have been so annoyed and irritated by me and i would have "gone
away" as you so hoped i would.
i see now that i should have included all this info in my first post, but
that was MY FIRST POST EVER and just was ignorant to how to ask a question on
here.
but i question if any of you would have believed me even then that the issue
is an ie8 issue and not me doing something wrong.
and now that my issue is resolved i shall "go away"
and i hope i never have to ask for help here again
and thank you all again for reading my annoying posts
