SOLVED my windows update problem

I apologize in advance for not knowing who to give credit to this idea for
but it worked for me. Same problems as most: after SP2 installation, I would
get an error message (mine was 80240030) and windows update would not work.
What worked for me was to go to:
WINNT folder
Software Distribution folder
Delete the files in the Software Distribution folder but NOT the
folder itself.
Run windows update again, the files are rebuilt and for me success.

This also fixed my problem, until I tried a Windows Update again. After
clearing this directory out, window update ran perfectly and gave me all the
updates I needed.

When I tried running it again though, the same error (80240030) occured.
Looks like it's only a hort term fix.
