Hello,

I do not know what happened but, some directories ( Application data,
Cookies, My Documents, Send to, Start Menu) under my user directory now have
shortcut icons on left corner and when I click on them I get Access denied
error. I didn't change them to be like that intentionally. Now I cannot
access them. Please help.

Athena

Hi Athena,

You did nothing wrong. It sounds like you just unhid the "protected
operating system files". This tutorial will show you how to hide them
back.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/86...s-folders.html

These files are called "Junction Points" or "Symbolic Link". They just
relay to the actual folder, but cannot be accessed directly. EX: "My
Documents" for "C:\users\(your username)\Documents". You can read more
on it here:

'NTFS symbolic link - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia'
