Just a little bit of information:
I got on remote with my mom's computer and went to windows update; I did the
"small updates" she needed before the install of sp2. I then restarted the
computer in which of course I got disconnected from remote assistance she
then reconnected me and I got her to the page at windows update and told her
what she needed to do next. I then disconnected from remote; told her to
make sure all other windows were closed (such as remote assistance) and she
did the download. All was going fine until she walked out of the room for a
few minutes and came back; the pc had went to log on again and she had to
put her password in. I later figured out she had "on resume password
protect" check marked in display properties, screen saver. Anyway after she
put her password in the sp2 installation quit. I told her to leave it a lone
for about 15 minutes and see if it did anything and it did not. So I believe
that windows logging off and going back to the welcome screen and her having
to put the password in is what stopped the update (it must be very sensitive
lol) Anyway she restarted her pc and the sp2 installation was gone. We re
connected on remote and I checked her history on windows update and it said
it had failed. So I made sure I un checked "on resume password protect"
restarted the computer and got her back to windows update and it downloaded
and installed with no problems after that. Just figured I'd post this just
in case anyone else may run into the same problem. Sometimes any little bit
of information can help. Serenity~

This type of feedback will prove useful I'm sure for some people,
unfortunately the large number of problem posts with the SP2 upgrade is
going to swamp out this type of valuable feedback. I think we could do with
a new newsgroup "SP2 useful feedback" to post this type of feedback, thus
allowing people to be able to quickly locate this type of valuable feedback.

Hey
Yes it was very useful even for me because I did remote with a friend after
doing my mom's pc and I got my friend ready for sp2 and I never would have
thought to look for that option in screen saver if I wouldn't have had the
issue with my mom's pc. And thank God I did look on the friend's pc cause she
had the same thing check marked...!
Thanks for the positive reply back white knight
