Hello,
Excellent recommendation regarding requests for assistance with Windows
Update problems.
It helps to know:
1.) The operating system and service pack level (if applicable). Right-click
MY COMPUTER > Properties > General Tab.
2.) Version of Internet Explorer. Open I.E. Help > About.
3.) Any Error Messages that you see.
4.) Whether this is Version 4 or 5 of Windows Update. You can tell by the
url as Windows Update is loading into the browser.
Prefixed by either
http://v4.... or
http://v5....
Most XP systems will be migrated to V5 soon. So in short order we will be
able to assume that you are on V5 with these boxes.
