Please help!

Under Vista SP1, I click the "Microsoft Office Word 2007" item in start
menu, and it can't launch the app!!! Nothing happens. The same with the
"Diskeeper 2008", "Excel" , etc.

So, I click "All programs" --> "Microsoft Office" ---> "Microsoft Office
Word 2007" one by one, and the app is normally started. What's more, the
desktop icons work normally too.

Could anybody help me, please ??? Thanks~

Thanks On the Bridge.

I've try what you said. The icon shows on the top of the start menu, but it
doesn't work either.
I click it, and nothing happen.

Than I right click it, "Send To"-->"Desktop (creat short)", and then return
the desktop and double click the created icon, and the app start normally.

Just can't tell why~~~ Has any idea? Please~~~

strange.. try this

remove that pinned one and now =
drag and drop the icon from your desktop onto the start buton itself, and
release the mouse button while hovering on the start button

when you do this a shortcut is created on the start menu

It can't work either.

Maybe some keys in the Regedit have been changed or deleted. It causes my
office apps and some other apps (but not all apps) can't launch through
start menu.

Actually, it's not a big deal. Forget about that and thanks very much for
your help! ^_^

Windy,

Are you sure the app is not opening, but it's minimized on your Task Bar?

I mentioned shellexview in my previous post to the OP

I suggest the METHOD 2 in your page

since shellexview is user friendly-er than editing the registry manually
