some unsuccessful updates

I've tried to install 4 "critical" updates for Windows XP, and they were
unsucessful, but when I click on the red icon, I get no innfo to help me fix
it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I`v had this problem for nearly a year now and still no one seems to b able
to help. I will keep an eye on your posts and hpofully we can both get this
sorted.

Dunk - decide what your problem is...

Either you have the trouble where you can download but not install the 80+
updates after a repair/upgrade installation OR you have a problem where some
individual update(s) will not install.

Which is it? Be very specific. They are different troubles - although one
of the two solutions already given to you several times sometimes fixes
both. SOmetimes it does not depending upon the update(s) in question.

I can download but will not install. I know you r trying to help and I tryed
all thet you have sugested and its not working so I`m keeping a close eye on
other posts to see if somthing new pops up. Yours hoping Dunc :-(

Please try this: Go to Start > Run > type in or copy&paste the below
into the Open: line:

regsvr32 msxml3.dll [ that's an L, not a 1(one) ]
Click OK or press Enter

Did you get a confirmation message that the action was successful or an
error message ?
