someone help?!?!?!?! need help with POP3 and SMTP

hello, i have NO idea about this stuff, so i my stepdad started to setup my
email account for me. i already have an email address and i can RECEIVE email
but not SEND anything at all....he set it up on my old laptop and worked fine
but we cannot figure it out on this new laptop, and my old laptop is dead and
therefore i cannot delete my email off that one

this is the message i get when i try to send..

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test email', Account: 'Jess's
Email', Server: 'smtp.mysoul.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '504
<Stafford>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 504, Error Number: 0x800CCC66

That's a very strange error message. I have only seen it associated with
mail server to mail server communications, never for client to mail server
communications.

I suggest you call Soul's customer service:

As a temporary work around you can send via webmail, or set up
a Gmail POP account for sending.

When typing e mails my cursor jumped or disappeared frequently. I had to
left click and re-insert the bar thing to type each time, I then realised
it happened every time the computer checked for incoming mail, which was set
at every minute. I have altered it to every 60 minutes and the problem
seems to have gone. Well, I have typed this uninterrupted! Not ideal, but
it seemed to work. No doubt the next "improvement" to Widows will make it
worse still.

0x800CCC66 SMTP_504_COMMAND_PARAM_NOTIMPL Command not implemented.
WinMail has for some reason sent a command the server does hot understand.
Are you sure that's the proper server name?
Are you connected to the Internet through mysoul.com.au?

That's a very unusual problem. Make sure you have the latest Vista-compatible
keyboard/mouse driver. If that is a laptop, the touchpad driver usually has
settings that will minimize unwanted cursor jumps.
