Something strange with Windows Update Catalog

I have no Windows Update problem at all, and always doing it "manually"!

But with Windows Update Catalog, I have a some mysterious problem going on.

The Catalog doesn't display all critical updates for WinXP Pro SP2 and a few
other updates types. It has displayed them before, so it is acting rather
strange now. What I get, is a list of about 22 critical updates, all of them
for Net.Framework except 2 of them.

Obviously the Catalog doesn't have it right, or what?

I have a newly reinstalled system on the computer which I'm working on,
because of this problem, and that has not solved it.

Uninstalling the update KB896688 did not work in previous installation.
Now I'm seriously thinking about reinstalling again, but without updating
from the Windows Update site, before I go online to Windos Update Catalog,
but this is perhaps too extreme.

I could need some help!

Please excuse my english,
Heliospan

When at the Search page of the Catalog, choose "Windows XP SP2" instead of
"Windows XP Professional SP2". (Yes, it shouldn't be that way but it is.)
