Somethings Wrong with my computer

I turned on my computer and it says that NVIDIA needs to install a driver..so
i installed it .. after that..my computer got choppy and it got screwed up my
desktop with big icons and stuff.... now i cant run my system restore to put
it back to normal because it says system restore not completed any
suggestions?

Since you can log into the computer, try and roll back the video drivers
to the ones that worked:

Roll Back Troublesome Device Drivers in Windows Vista from the How-To
Geek - http://tinyurl.com/346lox

If that is unsuccessful, go to Control Panel>Programs and Features and
find the entry for Nvidia display drivers. Click the Uninstall button.
After you reboot, install the correct display drivers. Before you do
this, get the correct drivers and have them handy. See below for general
drivers information:

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific
model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers
anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor.

Try pressing F11

Make sure that there is a network client installed (Client for Microsoft
Networks).

I would get an external USB drive. You can get them for under a hundred
dollars. That way you don't have to scroll through a tape to find things.
And there is no further expense to buy media.


It's probably the modem

I think you posted to the wrong thread. The OP's problem has nothing to
do with networking or backup.

mfr = manufacturer

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer meaning you might but a
brandX product however its OEM was brandY, this happens a
lot in the electronics area.
