Sonic update manager

I am trying to help my friend who has a dell computer, on start up he gets
the message from something called sonic update manager that it is unable to
update and that we should put the cd rom in as it can not find what it is
looking for, this is every time the computer is booted up, how can I get this
to stop loading on start up, there is also an aol program running that we
dont need either, I have un ticked it from the running in the system
confiquration utility but it still says running after booting again and can
find nothing that says sonic..... can someone help me please, I would be
grateful. many thanks Gerald (uk)

on start up with my new dell inspiron notebook I keep getting a popup asking me for the installation disc containing MS/UM. Have found the file on my roxio install disc but it gives me an error message and continues to ask for file Help
