I have been unable to sign into one perticular passport account from all
pc's, all versions of messenger, as well as msn web messenger, nothing works.
Another passport account i have however works just fine, from all the same
places the other one gives me a 81000314 error.

A support request to windows live messenger with very detailed information
provided me with nothing but a useles form reply of which none of the
suggestions were useful or applied to this situation.

Someone throw us a bone, i've been unable to login with my main account for
24hrs+ while another has been working the entire time.

Count me in as well. I have a comcast.net address that I use as my main for
both email and Windows Live Messenger.

Since yestereday morning I've not been able to log in using this ID.
However, I can log in using an alternate Hotmail account - AND - ironically
can log into Web Messenger with the comcast.net ID -- so go figure.

I got the same message from MSN -- a whole lot of nothing.

Same problem here, 2 days now. I'm gettin sick about it. I can still use
hotmail, change the password, etc., but Windows Live is not login in anymore.
Is there a link to download 7.5?

Greetings,

You can also try this.

Go to Start, run, then type "regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies

Delete the key "contacts.msn.com"

Then, try launching Windows Live Messenger again.
