Who still has 3.5" floppy's they can't bear to throw out even though
their computer no longer has a 3.5" drive in it?

Last year I decided to give all 27 to our computer club. But first, I tried
to format them on my computer that has a 3.5" drive. To my surprise, 4 of
the 27 would not format. ...trash can...
If you believe that you have important data on them, better check and hope
you still have the data on your computer for those that are bad.

I always order a new computer with the floppy drive included. What's another
$20.00?

I used to listen to 45's (records) and 78's when I was a kid in the 1950's.
But, alas, time went on and 33's went down the tubes, as 8 track came along
and then there was cassette and then there was .......

Have a yard sale!

I bet many 3.5" floppies will hold data much longer than much of the
cheap CD-R's and DVD+/-R's people use....

When I bought my computer, I got the floppy option. I still occasionally
use it for small stuff. I even added a parallel port card, although it's
mainly to program my JP1-based remote, not for a printer.

Now if only they made a PCIe to ISA adapter, I could reuse my AdLib
card!!! :-)

I think you'd be hard-pressed to give away floppy disks.

Bill
(who still has a few 78, 45, 33 rpm records around as well as some
cassette tapes -- I have a 1970's era Ampex tape recorder that still works!)
