Sound Blaster does not work after updateing to sp2

After installing sp2 my sound stopped working. I have checked for hardware
updates with microsoft and creative labs. i have taken card out booted then
rebooted with card back in. my onboard sound also does not work. most error
messages refer to my mixer is not working or something to that effect. It
will not allow me to open the volume controls.In device manager does not show
any problems. but in audio devices in control panel under the Sounds tab says
no audio device. Can anyone help me with this.I do not want to uninstall sp2.
any help would be appreciated.thanks Tork

I have the same problem did u ever figure out what u had to do if u had to
remove sp2 or not i really would like to know

Angel;
This sounds more like a sound driver problem.
Go to the sound card/computer manufacturers website and get the latest
Windows XP sound drivers.
